Norse Booker, a resident of Semmes, Alabama passed away on April 22, 2024 at the age of 93. He was born March 15, 1931 in Choctaw County. After graduating from Southern Choctaw High School in Silas Alabama, he moved to Mobile where he met and Married Lydia Gibson. They were married for 44 years until her passing in September 2000. He was a devoted follower of Christ who faithfully loved and cared for his family until the very end. He taught Sunday school for many years and had a passion for teaching the Bible and leading others to Christ. He volunteered many hours at the Mission of Hope sharing and encouraging the residents about the truth of the love of God and the grace that is offered through Jesus. He worked for many years as a cabinet maker and was loved by everyone who knew him. He will always be remembered for his smiling face and warm and uplifting spirit. Norse married Patricia Taylor in October 2001. They were married for 22 years. In their retirement years, they enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, his children; Julie (Danny) Reed, Anne Booker, Beverly (Jerry) Fuqua, Kimberly (Jay) Morgan, Robin (Greg) Maddox, stepdaughter; Angela Taylor Holt, stepsons; John Melvin Taylor Jr., Paul Anthony Taylor, grandchildren: Daniel, Josh, Megan, Matthew, Jonathan, Haley, Olivia, Hannah, Lydia, Ryan, step-grandson: Riley Holt plus 7 great-grandchildren as well as many relatives and friends and his devoted little Maltese, Sugar. He will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Life Traditional Baptist Church. A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM with interment following in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
